Our monthly Healing and Wholeness Service will be held on Tuesday, May 17 at 7:00 pm in Wesley. The speaker will be Denise Meine-Grahm. Denise is a former corporate executive of 20+ years who's world nearly shattered on August 8, 2012 when her only child, Drey, died by suicide. Since losing Drey, Denise has taken her personal passion for serving others who are bereaved by suicide. In 2014 she started Franklin County LOSS (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors) in Columbus Ohio. LOSS's mission is to be an installation of hope by providing resources, understanding and support to the bereaved by suicide. LOSS consists of trained volunteers who serve survivors of a suicide loss both as first responders and as they learn to integrate this loss into their life. Denise has received many awards and recognitions for her passionate work speaking at churches, schools and other organizations about mental health, suicide prevention, grief and hope. May is suicide prevention month. Pastor Bob will lead in the healing prayers and preside for the Sacrament of Holy Communion with assistance from the Stonybrook Healing Ministry team. You may come to the service to pray for others, to have the community pray for your special needs, and to pray for the hurt and brokenness in the world. A free-will offering will be received for LOSS.
