Prime Timers Lunch and Learn

America in the 1940’s The Prime Timers ministry is hosting an event on Wednesday, November 16 from 12:00 pm-1:30 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. A light lunch will be provided. Bob Weihenmayer, a WWII veteran, will share some of his experiences. Also, the floor will be open for others to share their personal or family experiences of this major time in American history. We will discuss world events and also cultural and personal events. How did the war impact American families? What was popular on the radio? What novels did people read or plays did they attend? What was the impact of returning soldiers and the GI bill? What was America like with so many post-war babies (those famous “baby boomers”)? All members of the Stonybrook community are invited to participate (even if you were not around in the 1940’s). If you have questions, please contact Bill Bartter at wbartter@att.net. Sign up below or on the Connection Card during Sunday services.
