Ministry of Membership Care
SUMC has a wonderful team of trained lay leaders who provide pastoral care and support. We are available for hospital, nursing home, and home-bound visitation. This great team enjoys offering prayer, companionship, and support.
Our Newborn Ministry celebrates with the families as they welcome a new little one into their family. The coordinator notifies the team when a family has a new baby and an available servant volunteers to make and deliver a homemade meal for the family, as well as deliver a pre-made gift bag from Stonybrook (typically within a week or two of the birth).
The Fellowship Team
We serve the church and its members by providing fellowship events. They work with the other ministry teams and the church staff to plan and implement specific fellowship events that help carry out the vision and mission of the congregation. You can serve on the Team by helping at special events, clean up, food prep or in the planning of events.
A Card Ministry
A Card Ministry at Stonybrook provides contact from the church to those who are ill, shut-in or in any situation that seems appropriate.
Bereavement Dinners are meals provided for a church family who has lost a loved one. This is a function of the UMW but anyone interested in helping to serve, to provide food or to help clean up is welcome to participate.
