Job Opportunities at Stonybrook Church

Lead Custodian- Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and Saturdays 7:30 am-11:30 am, with one additional shift per month on a Saturday night from 6:00-10:00 pm. Standard pay rate is $12.00/hr.

Primary Responsibilities: The Lead Custodian is responsible for working alongside fellow Custodial team members while leading by example and overseeing quality of work performed in the building and on the grounds. As Lead Custodian, this person oversees the scheduling of the custodial staff, monitors quality of cleanliness of the facilities, order supplies and pays custodial bills, and communicates daily with the Business Manager to assure that the facility is clean and prepared for use. Custodians, in addition to general cleaning responsibilities, are expected to perform necessary room setup/ tear down for scheduled meetings and programs.

Floater Custodian- The floater custodian is responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that the building and grounds are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner. Hours:  This is a fill in position for special events, and to cover when Custodians are off. This will usually be evening hoursSaturday and Sunday.  If interested there are Monday hours available to work from 5:30-10:00 pm.

Hourly Pay: $12/hour

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:  Room set-up, emptying trash, cleaning bathrooms and floors, vacuuming, cleaning glass and other surfaces, light maintenance and general cleaning.  Individual must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and able to work up and down stairs regularly.  

Required Competencies/Experience:  Custodial/janitorial experience preferred, must be self-motivated, dependable and honest.  Individual must be able to work independently, work under time constraints and overlapping work and have good verbal communication skills.
